JACOB'S STORY: For 20-year-old Jacob Radloff, coming to the Y is a way he can not only stay physically active, but also socially active among peers who encourage and support him. Jacob is a young man with autism, but continues to push through barriers that would otherwise hold him back from a lifestyle that many other adults his age enjoy.
Recently moving into his own apartment, Jacob now lives close enough to the Watertown Y to walk or ride his bike. Often accompanied by a guest, Jacob’s membership, which is supported through Strong Kids, allows him to have a planned activity everyday, keeping him engaged in a Christian-based environment.
Jacob enjoys a variety of activities at the Watertown Area YMCA and the YMCA at Pabst Farms; from racquetball and free-weights, to swimming and climbing the rock wall, there’s always something to keep him active physically, mentally and spiritually.
